Osurnia Otic Gel, 1mL- 2 x 1ml
Caution: Federal (USA) law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children.
DESCRIPTION:Osurnia is formulated for dogs to help treat otitis externa—an infection of the ear canal better known as swimmer’s ears in humans. While there are many causes for otitis externa in dogs, Osurnia is designed to help your pal feel better. It applies like a liquid and stays like a gel, which penetrates deep. It's built to coat and adhere to the entire ear canal, increasing contact time at the infection site. Osurnia even works with your canine companion’s natural ear cleaning process and is gradually removed over time.
USES:Osurnia is indicated for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs associated with susceptible strains of bacteria (Staphylococcus pseudintermedius) and yeast (Malassezia pachydermatis).
DOSAGE: Osurnia should be administered in the clinic. Clean and dry the external ear canal before administering the initial dose of the product. Administer one dose (1 tube) per affected ear(s) and repeat administration in seven days. Do not clean the ear canal for 45 days after the initial administration to allow contact of the gel with the ear canal. Cleaning the ear may affect product effectiveness. If alternative otic therapies are required, it is recommended to clean the ear(s) before application. Open tube by twisting the soft tip. Insert the flexible tip into the affected external ear canal(s) and squeeze entire tube contents into the external ear canal(s). After application, gently massage the base of the ear to allow the gel to penetrate to the lower part of the ear canal.
Precautions: Do not administer orally. Please consult your veterinarian before using in pets with perforated outer and middle ear. The integrity of the ear should be confirmed before administering this product. Reevaluate your pet if hearing loss or signs of other dysfunction are observed during treatment. Use with caution in dogs with impaired hepatic function. Please consult your veterinarian before using in pets used for breeding purposes, during pregnancy or in lactating females. Not for use in humans. Keep this and all medications out of reach of children—consult a physician in case of accidental ingestion. In case of accidental skin contact, wash area thoroughly with water. Avoid contact to the eyes.
Adverse Reactions:Please contact your veterinarian if the following adverse reactions occur: vomiting, increased liver enzymes or transient loss of hearing. Drug & Food Interactions Talk to your veterinarian about any other drugs the pet is taking before starting this medication.
Safety:In the event of an overdose: Contact your veterinarian immediately.
