K-BroVet 250 Chewable Tablets for Dogs- 60Ct
K-BroVet potassium bromide is used to treat seizure disorders. It can be used in addition to therapy with other agents or as the sole anticonvulsant.
Caution: Federal (USA) law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children.
Description:K-BroVet is a prescription chicken-liver-flavored chewable tablet containing potassium bromide to treat seizure disorders. In addition to therapy, it can be used in combination with other anti-seizure medications or as the sole anticonvulsant.
Indications:K-BroVet potassium bromide is used to treat seizure disorders. It can be used in addition to therapy with other agents or as the sole anticonvulsant.
Dosage: For loading dose to achieve a serum level of approximately 1 mg/mL, give 120 mg/kg PO daily for 5 days and then reduce to 30 mg/kg PO once daily. To achieve a serum level of approximately 1.5 mg/mL, give 160 mg/kg PO for 5 days and then reduce to 40 mg/kg PO once daily thereafter.
Administration:Give this medication exactly as directed by your veterinarian.
Precautions:K-BroVet should not be used in pets with a history of hypersensitivity to bromide or any of the components of the solution or tablets. For oral use only. Use under your veterinarian’s supervision. May cause sedation or lethargy. Not for use in treating status epilepticus.
Adverse Reactions:Please contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences drowsiness, increased hunger, thirst, urination, vomiting, constipation, anorexia, uncoordinated movements, nausea or personality changes, including attention, seeking, irritability or aggression, and aimless pacing. Pancreatitis has been reported to be more frequent in pets on concurrent phenobarbital and bromide therapy than pets on phenobarbital alone.
Safety:In the event of an overdose: Contact your veterinarian immediately.
