Description

This medication is used on the hair/scalp to treat dandruff and other scaly, itchy skin conditions (psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis). Coal tar belongs to a class of drugs known as keratoplastics. It works by causing the skin to shed dead cells from its top layer and slow down the growth of skin cells. This effect decreases scaling and dryness. Coal tar can also decrease itchiness from these skin conditions.

Directions

Wet hair thoroughly. Massage shampoo into the scalp. Lather. Leave on hair and scalp for several minutes. Rinse and repeat. For best results use at least twice a week or as directed by a doctor.

Ingredients

2.5% Solubilizec Coal Tar Extract (0.5% Coal Tar); water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamide MEA, cocamidopropyl betaine, laureth-4, fragrance, polysorbate 20, citric acid, sodium chloride, tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM hydantoin, caramel, red 40.
