Stop smoking completely when you begin using the gum. If you smoke your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up, use the 4mg lozenge. For weeks 1-6 take one lozenge every 1-2 hours. Weeks 7-9 take one lozenge every 2-4 hours. Weeks 10-12 take one lozenge every 4-8 hours.
