Description

Calamine topical (for the skin) is used to treat itching and skin irritation caused by chicken pox, insect bites or stings, measles, eczema, sunburn, poison ivy, and other minor skin conditions. Calamine Lotion must be shaken well before each use. Calamine is an anti-itch medicine that creates a cooling sensation as it evaporates on the skin. It can also dry oozing or weeping from minor skin irritation. It can treat diaper rashes in babies, soothe dry skin, and treat insect bites and chicken pox blisters. It has also been known to aid in treatment of minor skin irritations like psoriasis, eczema, and hives. Calamine lotion contains zinc oxide, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown that this can help aid in acne treatment. Calamine lotion has also been known to help reduce dark spots and scars on constant application. Directions

Adults and children 2 years of age and older: Shake well before using. Cleanse the skin with soap and water and let dry before each use. Apply lotion to the affected area using cotton or soft cloth, as often as needed for comfort. Children under 6 months of age: Consult a doctor before use. Store at room temperature 15-30 degrees C (59-86 degrees F).
