Hocks was an online Over the Counter (OTC) medication retailer acquired by HealthWarehouse in 2011. Since then, its OTC services have been seamlessly integrated into HealthWarehouse’s offerings. Occasionally, you may encounter the name “Hocks” referenced in relation to HealthWarehouse.

Additionally, the Caller ID for our phone number may sometimes display as “Hocks.”

HealthWarehouse offers significantly lower prices compared to traditional pharmacies by eliminating many of their additional costs.

For example, by not accepting insurance we avoid working with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), whose practices often lead to higher drug prices for retail pharmacies. As an online pharmacy, we also bypass the high overhead expenses associated with traditional retail chains. This allows us to purchase medications at lower costs, process orders more efficiently, and pass those savings directly to our customers.

Additionally, we provide added benefits like the option to order larger quantities of medications. Insurance coverage typically limits orders to a 30- or 90-day supply and may even define what qualifies as such. Since we don’t accept insurance, your prescriber can write prescriptions for up to a one-year supply of most medications saving you both time and money.

We stock FDA-approved medications from reliable manufacturers, ensuring that you can trust where your prescriptions come from. Products requiring a prescription are clearly marked with an "Rx" icon and a "Prescription Required" banner. During checkout, you’ll need to provide additional information about the prescriber and patient.

Please note we will never ship any prescription medication without first receiving a valid prescription.

By not accepting insurance we eliminate the middlemen allowing us to keep medication prices consistently low. Many of our customers find that our prices are often lower than standard co-pays.

You also have the option to pay out of pocket and submit insurance claims yourself for reimbursement providing flexibility and greater savings.

We dispense controlled substances with a valid prescription. We require the patient's social security number or driver’s license for verification. We do not fill Schedule II substances, and for Schedule III-V, patients must mail the original prescription or have the doctor fax it. Maximum limits apply by law.

Yes, to purchase prescription medications a valid prescription from a doctor or veterinarian is required. However, we also offer hundreds of over-the-counter products that can be purchased without a prescription.

Ask your doctor to send your prescription to HealthWarehousein the same way they would send to any traditional pharmacy. The prescriber can:

Most states don't allow patients to fax a prescription themselves because it is considered a “copy” and could be filled at multiple pharmacies. If you have the prescription with you, we recommend doing one of the following (more detailed information is provided under the questions “How do I send you my prescriptions?”):
  • Call your prescriber and ask them to send the prescription directly to us.
  • Take the prescription to a local pharmacy and we can transfer it.
  • Mail the original prescription to us.

HealthWarehouse does not currently provide telemedicine services, but there are many excellent options available. Be sure to choose a company and provider that is fully licensed and authorized in your state.

Once you have your prescription, a telemedicine provider can send it to us just like any other healthcare provider.

Processing time depends on how quickly we receive your valid prescription. We recommend planning for 1 to 5 days just to be safe, though most prescription orders will ship within 3 days.

All prescriptions must be reviewed by our pharmacy team before they are added to your patient profile and made visible on our website.

If you haven’t created an account or added the necessary patient and provider information, we may not yet be able to match your prescription to your account. The best course of action is to place your order. During the order process we’ll gather all the required information to match your prescription and begin processing it.

Yes! During Checkout you will have the option to select “Transfer”. At that time you’ll be asked to provide the pharmacy name and phone number. We take care of everything from here. Once the transfer is complete, we’ll ship your medication and add the prescription to your account.

A prescription marked as “Unverified” simply means it has not yet been reviewed by a HealthWarehouse pharmacist. While the status may seem concerning, it’s a standard part of pharmacy operations, does not cause delays, and is nothing to worry about.

You can still place an order for an unverified prescription, and we encourage you to do so. In the rare case that issues arise during the verification process, we will work directly with the prescriber to resolve them. Rest assured we will keep you informed if there are any expected delays or difficulties reaching your prescriber.

The primary way to refill an active prescription is by logging in and viewing “prescriptions”.

To log in and view prescriptions:
  1. Select the “Log In” button in the top right corner of the screen
  2. Once logged in, the button will now say the account holders name “Hello, [name]”
  3. Select this same button and click “Prescriptions”.


You can place your refill order directly from the prescription using the Reorder button at the bottom. If a prescription is not needed or acquired yet, you can search for the product and proceed through checkout.

As always, you can also contact customer services and we’re happy to take care of everything over the phone.

We can only fill the amount prescribed by your provider. You should ensure the prescription includes the correct dosage and quantity for the medication before you order.

TIP: As a cash pharmacy, we can fill up to a 1-year supply of most medications all at once. Just ask the prescriber to write the prescription for the quantity you want.

You can combine refills with certain limitations. Generally, refills can be combined for non-controlled and non-antipsychotic medications.

For your convenience, it's best to ask your prescriber to write a prescription for the larger quantity you want. Most medications can be filled for up to a 1-year supply at once.

We use your social security number or driver’s license number to verify your identity, ensuring that controlled substances are dispensed to the correct individual. This information is securely handled by our licensed pharmacists.

Shipping

All orders have an estimated processing time of 1 to 5 business days, though most ship within 3 days. For prescription medication orders, processing begins only after we receive a valid prescription. Even so, the majority of these orders are shipped within 3 days.

Shipping times vary depending on the shipping method selected at checkout.

Please note that insulin and refrigerated medications are shipped Monday through Thursday via UPS Next Day Air to ensure proper handling.

Refunds & Returns

Returns are complicated due to the nature of our products, but we will always do our best to help you and may offer a refund even if we can't legally accept a return. We recommend contacting us directly for help with Refunds and returns:

For most over-the-counter products, we offer a 90-day return policy. We still ask that you contact us about the return before sending the product back to us.
