Why Are Prices at HealthWarehouse So Affordable?

HealthWarehouse is able to offer prescription medications at significantly lower prices than traditional brick-and-mortar pharmacies, largely because of how we operate. By removing many of the costs and intermediaries that drive up prices elsewhere, we pass those savings directly to you.

For instance, we don't process insurance claims, which means we don’t work with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs)—companies whose involvement often leads to increased drug costs for retail pharmacies. By avoiding these third parties, we streamline the supply chain and reduce expenses.

As an online-only pharmacy, we also avoid the typical overhead costs that come with running physical stores—like rent, utilities, and in-store staff. This efficient model helps us keep prices low while maintaining high standards of service and safety.

More Flexibility with Larger Orders

Another benefit of our approach: we can offer larger quantities of medication than what insurance typically allows. Insurance plans often limit orders to 30- or 90-day supplies and impose restrictions on refills. Because we don’t bill insurance, your doctor can write a prescription for up to a one-year supply in many cases—saving you both time and money.

Free Shipping on All Orders

No hidden fees here—every prescription order ships free within the United States and its territories. Orders go out Monday through Friday, and we work hard to make sure you get your medication quickly and reliably.

Why Consider Buying in Bulk?

Buying Ezetimibe in higher quantities reduces the price per tablet and means fewer trips to the virtual pharmacy. It’s an easy way to save money and time.

What is Ezetimibe used for?

  • Helps lower LDL cholesterol (commonly known as "bad" cholesterol)

  • Can be used on its own or together with statins like atorvastatin or simvastatin to improve cholesterol control

  • Aims to reduce the risk of heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes in certain people

  • Works by limiting how much cholesterol is absorbed in the small intestine

Off-label uses for Ezetimibe

While primarily prescribed for cholesterol management, Ezetimibe may also be used in other situations:

  • To help treat sitosterolemia, a rare genetic condition where plant sterols build up in the body

  • As part of a treatment plan for familial hypercholesterolemia, a form of inherited high cholesterol

  • In cases where patients can’t take statins or need additional cholesterol-lowering help

  • Occasionally explored for conditions like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or cholesterol-related gallstones, although not commonly prescribed for these

Possible side effects of Ezetimibe

Most people take Ezetimibe without problems, but some may notice side effects. These can include:

  • Muscle aches or weakness

  • Joint discomfort

  • Stomach cramps or diarrhea

  • Feeling unusually tired

More serious effects are uncommon but worth watching for. Contact a healthcare provider if any of the following occur:

  • Changes in liver function (especially when combined with statins)

  • Muscle issues such as myopathy or, in rare cases, rhabdomyolysis

  • Allergic reactions that might involve rash, swelling, or trouble breathing

Medication interactions with Ezetimibe

Ezetimibe can interact with other medications, so it’s important to use caution if also taking:

  • Statins like simvastatin, which may increase the risk of muscle or liver problems

  • Fibrates such as gemfibrozil, which can raise the chance of gallstones or muscle side effects

  • Cyclosporine, as this combination can boost the levels of both drugs in the blood

  • Bile acid sequestrants like cholestyramine, which can interfere with how Ezetimibe is absorbed—doses may need to be spaced apart

Always keep your healthcare provider informed about:

  • Any prescription or over-the-counter medications you’re currently using

  • All vitamins, supplements, or cholesterol-lowering products you may be taking

EZETIMIBE - ORAL

(eh-ZET-ih-mibe)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Zetia

USES: Ezetimibe is used along with a low cholesterol/low fat diet and exercise to help lower cholesterol in the blood. Ezetimibe may be used alone or with other drugs (such as "statins" or fibrates). Ezetimibe works by reducing the amount of cholesterol your body absorbs from your diet. Reducing cholesterol may help prevent strokes and heart attacks.

HOW TO USE: Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking ezetimibe and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once daily with or without food. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. If taking a bile acid sequestrant (such as cholestyramine, colestipol), take ezetimibe at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after taking the bile acid sequestrant. These products may bind to ezetimibe, preventing your body from fully absorbing the drug. Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. It is important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. Most people with high cholesterol do not feel sick. It may take up to 2 weeks before you get the full benefit of this drug.

SIDE EFFECTS: Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. This drug may increase the risk of liver damage (when taken with a "statin") or muscle damage when taken with a fibrate or "statin". Tell your doctor right away if you experience any of the following symptoms: signs of liver problems (such as severe stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea/vomiting, yellowing eyes/skin, dark urine), muscle pain/tenderness/weakness (especially with fever or unusual tiredness). A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing. This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. In the US - Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088. In Canada - Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to Health Canada at 1-866-234-2345.

PRECAUTIONS: Before taking ezetimibe, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver disease. Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products). During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Keep a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's approval. One product that may interact with this drug is: cyclosporine.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US National Poison Hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canada residents can call a provincial poison control center.

NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. Laboratory and/or medical tests (such as cholesterol levels) should be performed periodically to monitor your progress. When ezetimibe is given with a statin agent, liver function tests should be performed to monitor for side effects. Consult your doctor for more details.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children and pets. Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.
