ConvaTec Stomahesive - Protective Powder helps form a protective barrier for weeping skin. This stomahesive powder absorbs moisture while helping to prevent skin irritation. The powder also helps to extend the life of the skin barrier/wafer. ConvaTec Stomahesive Protective Powder is available in 1oz bottles.
Directions
Apply around the stoma before applying your skin barrier
It will absorb any moisture, lengthen the wear time of the device, and can help raw and weepy skin. Keep in mind that this powder does not work as an adhesive. An old technique known as crusting, which involves dabbing powder onto the skin, followed by a protective spray or wipe, can be used. It is not a surefire way of ensuring healthy skin around the stoma, but it is worth trying for those who have difficulty keeping their peristomal skin healthy.
