***Should not be used as a primary Contraceptive*** Preventeza, from the makers of Vagisil, is an emergency contraceptive that reduces the chance of pregnancy after unprotected sex if a contraceptive failed or if you did not use birth control. Available over the counter. One step by taking one tablet. The tablet contains levonorgestrel, a hormone that has been used in many birth control pills for several decades. It contains a higher dose of levonorgestrel than birth control pills, but works in a similar way to prevent pregnancy, mainly by preventing ovulation (egg release). It may also prevent fertilization of a released egg (joining of sperm and egg) or attachment of a fertilized egg to the uterus (implantation).
Take as soon as possible within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex. The sooner you take it the more effective it will be. See Package for additional information, directions and warnings.
Active: Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg. Inactive: Colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, povidone
Please see product for a list of warnings. Preventeza does not protect against STD's. Please read and follow all directions and information included with the product. Preventeza is intended to prevent pregnancy from occurring. If you think you may already be pregnant, please consult your physician before taking any medications.
